In Chinese, hulu葫芦 (gourd) sounds like “fu福” (blessing) and “lu禄” (prosperity). The gourd’s body is engraved with the four characters for “wealth fills the hall.” From its top, a plum branch blooms upward, symbolizing continuous fortune and a life filled with upward momentum and joy.
